About Mike

Michael is from the majestic old growth redwoods of the Northern California coast, bordering the Great State of Oregon. Growing up, he spent most of his time in the mountains, rivers, and lakes of the Pacific Northwest, fully captivated by the beauty of nature. Mike also enjoyed playing Varsity Football for Del Norte High School, as a “6-visioned” Tight End, on the historic 1998 League Champion squad. His greatest moment(s) in childhood was scoring two touchdowns at home against Humboldt-Del Norte League rival Eureka Loggers, during his senior year. The Warriors had not beaten the Loggers at home since Mike was two-years old. They won 27-11 that night.

The Del Norte Warrior joined the U.S. Army when he was twenty. He was an Airborne Ranger and served two combat tours in OEF with Task Force Ranger. Mike also served 10 months at the DMZ, Republic of Korea.

From learning about Martin Luther King, Jr., in kindergarten, to observing the injustices in Afghan villages, the profession chose him.

Earning the G.I Bill, Mike separated from the Army and matriculated into The University of Colorado at Denver. He graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in History and Pre-Law, with honors distinction. Mike’s favorite courses in college were The History of U.S. Foreign Policy since 1912, and American Legal History.

Since then, he has represented thousands of criminal defendants in misdemeanors, felonies, and appeals. He also represents clients in a range of other cases including CINA, civil matters, and juvenile. The first time Michael took a Class A, B, or C Felony to a Jury in Alaska, each returned a Verdict of Not Guilty.

As a combat veteran, Michael takes special pride in representing members of the military and other veterans. As an Airborne Ranger, Michael prides himself in fighting like a Ranger for ALL minorities within the jurisdiction of Alaska.
